According to World Bank, Global food crisis reaches it peak in 2022. In Nigeria, the prices of food and essential commodities almost doubled within a year. While population explosion exacerbates the trend, climate change threatens as land, labour and capital fails to yield in full capacity. One of the ways to address the crisis is afforestation of fruit trees necessary to increase food production and solve multiple problems of climate change. In furtherance of Whole Planet Initiative Afforestation Project, we were at Ipee, Oyun LG Kwara State, today July 16, 2022 to sensitize the community on climate change. We enlightened them on mitigation Strategies, coping skills and adaptation mechanisms to build their resilience. We to this end empower them with 300 fortified orange seedlings. Appreciating the intervention, the participants who are mostly youth and women promised to multiply the seedlings and take the enlightenment with utmost responsibility. Kudos to Pillars and Vision Foundation whose partnership with Whole Planet Initiative made the empowerment a reality. Dear all, Whole Planet Initiative is yet opened to your sponsorship, collaboration and partnership. With just #1000, 2 trees will be planted on your behalf. 1 fortified fruit tree will be planted to feed the present and future generations. We hope to hear from you on this soon😉 Thanks in anticipation. Our communication channels are: www.wholeplanetinitiative.org.
