Something stands out in the global agenda of SDGs; it prioritizes youth capacity building and development to ensure they manage themselves and the world around them. The reason for this isn't far fetch. As futuristic and onward thinking leaders, they understand that the youth have a longer time to live on Earth and more importantly, they are the leaders and managers of whatever the present leaders leave behind. In advancing this course, I was at the MAYEIN Resources Centre today to take their audience who are mostly youth and children on the topic: CHILDREN/YOUTH AND THEIR ENVIRONMENT. We discuss the importance of environment to man, the need to use it sustainably and how best to manage it. It was a lively discussion with questions from the much inquisitive, brilliant and intelligent children in attendance. They promise to take the lessons home, make use of it and enlighten their families and neighbors such that efforts can be concerted to achieve a greener Planet of our dream.
