End Environmental Injustice

End Environmental Injustice

Now that the silent Agenda of the noble United Nations course; Sustainable Development Goals 16 is receiving a good attention from all concerned stakeholders in our dear nation Nigeria, can we also look into other human induced factors that shorten human lifespan?

•Pollution
•Climate Change
•Global warming
These are among other life threatening challenges confronting human existence but many seem ignorant of it.

Do you know that the above mentioned challenges result from human exhaustive interraction with the environment?

We cultivate!
We build!
We innovate!
All seem good as long as it promotes human welfare. Sadly, these are done on the environment with reckless abandoned as long as man satisfactorily satisfies his wants without regard to the environment that makes it possible.

Perhaps if we can't cut the use of fossil fuel to a minimum compatible with the environment, we can do more in planting trees and let the existing ones subsist in the forest.

Our culture of Reducing, Reusing and Recycling of resources will increase the lifespan of available resources.

Timely attention to our automobiles that pollute the environment will make a great difference.

Our culture of burning bushes and unused materials to open air accounts for a great percentage of global warming.

Dear all, social injustice is not limited to extra judicial killings and extortion by the supposed human protection agencies. Social injustice includes bastardizing common good because of perceived strength.

Polluting air for whatever reason is injustice!
Wasting usable and reusable resources is injustice to not only the present but the future generations inclusive.

Overharvesting/harvesting of forest resources without a corresponding replacement is injustice.

Improper disposal of toxic waste is injustice.

As we clamour an end to institutional injustice; social, economic and environmental injustice projects an irredeemable injustice to the present and future generations.
