In the quest to reduce disasters...
In the quest to reduce disasters...
In the quest to reduce disasters and the attendant impacts on lives, livelihoods, properties and investments across the globe, today 13th of October is set aside by the world leaders to commemorate International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction and to bring to the knowledge of everyone the need to be disaster conscious and, to reduce the driving factors.
What is it that is expected of us as individual(s), community, state and nation to make this day count as stated by the Sendai Framework of 2015? We need to:
👉Understanding disaster risk;
👉Strengthening disaster risk governance to manage disaster risk;
👉Investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience;
👉Enhancing disaster preparedness for effective response, and to "Building Back Better" in recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction.
A due diligence to this at our individual and collective circles will inevitably reduce disasters and make the planet earth safer for all.
At Whole Planet Initiative, we aim to save lives and properties of all that exist by raising advocacy on environmental issues of concern, manage hazards to mitigate avoidable disasters and encourage 3Rs(Reuse Reduce and Recycle) concept at all levels.
We are open to partnership and collaboration in this project.
