It's another World Environment Day to...

It's another World Environment Day to remind us of the need to sustainably manage our environment even if not for ourselves, the unborn children would be glad we did. Like never before, the need to effectively manage our environment is fast assuming a forefront in international discourse. This development is not unconcerned with the threats that climate change poses to humanity in addition to the fast degrading natural environment and habitats of living and non living organisms. The untold effects of climate change including high temperature, variation in seasons and rainfall, drought and flood could be reduced if not avoided if we can collectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions and switch to green energy. A tree you plant today would give lives tomorrow! The biodiversity of flora and fauna you protect today would sustain your unborn children!! A well managed natural environment is capable of absorbing biological hazards only if humans can oblige the rules of engagements (preservation and sustainability) and we'll collectively live in a world free of pandemics and diseases! As we celebrate this year World Environment Day, I charge us to put sustainability at the centre of our interraction with the environment.
