It was a great time with Ojoo High School Students today as Whole Planet Initiative; a Non Governmental Organisation with speciality in environmental management and sustainability sensitised and educated them today Thursday, 12th March, 2020 on climate change, sustainable environmental management practices and waste management. Our motive was formed out of the felt need to equip the public with basic environmental knowledge and skills required to inform a sustainable environmental practices as against its scarcity in public domain which makes the people to subject the environment to all forms of abuse that degenerate into various environmental hazards. Today, the aesthetics of our natural environment is fast diminished. Waste heaps on walk ways and public places, water channels are blocked with dirts and debris, plastic pollution is now a defining feature of our streets, drainages and water bodies. Our land is vast degraded and air pollution among others keep positing threat to human lives. Unfortunately, our people perish because they lack knowledge. Most of the human induced hazards are ignorantly attributed to the Divine Being while we shield ourselves from the truth that we have failed as humans to tender sustainably the garden(Earth Planet) He gave us in wholesome state. We are glad we replaced ignorance with knowledge sufficient to effect the changes we expect to see in human interactions with the environment.
