Flood is an unpalatable occurrence that we don't wish it happens in history again. It's so deep that God promised never to end the world with it.

How come flood is fast taken hold of the planet in recent time than ever before? 

Someone said torrential downpour is the cause. I can't agree less. In fact, it's becoming the order of the day particularly with the vigour that climate change gives to it!

Does that mean that we need to continuously be weary of floods catastrophes consequently?

Does that mean the Divine promise no longer valid?

Why the above may quiver our minds, we wouldn't need to be worried if we can be proactive, guard and tender our environment the Eden-like way.

Rain will continue to be an integral part of the planet Earth. We only need to anticipate, prepare for and respond to it in a sane and responsible way.

Just a gentle reminder! Water will always have it's way, hence the need for us to pave the way for it in it's natural and constructed ecosystem.

Consequently, we can overcome flooding by:

🤏🏻Avoiding building on the flood plain!

🤏🏻 Avoiding dumping of refuse on water ways, drainages and water channels

🤏🏻Clearing water channels before downpours

🤏🏻Encouraging afforestation to absorb rain water.

🤏🏻 Disposing waste properly to guard against polythene and plastics that prevent water from percolating the ground.

🤏🏻Avoiding a complete casting/seal off of structural surroundings.

🤏🏻Imbibe a sustainable Urban planning.
