Unlike the previous years,  2022 alone had recorded not less than 15 global and continental Conferences and Conventions on environment with Nigerian President and notable representatives of ministries and agencies were adequately represented. 

Despite the economic brouhaha that leaves Nigerians in millions poorer, billions of naira is committed to the supposed environmental project. Of course, with the rate at which climate and environmental degradation is making incursion to nations (including the strong ones) no same person would counter the budgetary allocation to restore our ecosystem and promoting green projects. 

Having said that, how do we marry the essence of the said Conventions and Conferences with the attitude of same Leaders?

Among all benign instruments, fiery is the commonest strategy of the Nigeria Custom Service to seized goods. Just yesterday, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) enthusiastically displayed fumes of seized drugs worth 194 billion naira.

Of course, I'm not moved by the inglorious and untrue content. I'm aware that our leaders are good at proofing unsavory points even at the expense of national image. I expect they proof more the essence of their involvement and participation in Conferences and Conventions that they expend our sinking naira on.

 

I wished the neighborhood of the scene could hear the tiniest of my voice to safe their lungs from the perilous fumes. It aches my heart that lots of plants, animals, birds, soil and water bodies who understands not my language are at the receiving end.

Consequently, I believe we can do better as a nation. Nigeria shall be great" lyrics is fading away. We can revive it with our candid gestures. 

This is a national call to all to stop disservicing our nation, Nigeria, all to drive a point.
